More than 30 employees of Donohoe Construction Company
, Washington, D.C., accepted the ice bucket challenge to raise awareness for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Company executives Bob Donohoe, CEO of The Donohoe Companies, Chris Bruch, President and COO of The Donohoe Companies, and Steve Donohoe, President of Donohoe Construction led their employees in the challenge as they all dumped hard hats filled with ice water on their heads for the cause.
The ice bucket challenge was created to raise both money and awareness for ALS and those who are challenged are supposed to dump a bucket of ice water over your head, send a donation to an ALS charity or both within 24 hours of being nominated.
After completing the challenge, Donohoe, a member of ABC Virginia and Metro Washington chapters, has challenged other members of the DC business community to get involved.
The ALS Association says it has received $7.6 million in donations
since the campaign began on July 29.
