The purpose is to serve the needs of ABC metal building contractor members so that they get maximum benefit from their membership. The council is comprised of manufacturer, erector and designer representatives of the metal building industry.
The council meets several times a year to discuss issues that affect the metal building contracting industry and to identify and provide ABC initiatives that are tailored specifically to the needs of ABC metal building contractor members including:
- Publishing a trade newsletter: Issue 1, Issue 2
- Assisting in the National Craft Championships
- Being the leading advocate of training, emphasizing excellence and safety in the erection of metal buildings
- Maintaining an ongoing relationship with other industry groups (such as MBMA and MBCEA) for possible education initiatives or for promoting the industry. All ABC-member metal building contractors have the opportunity to serve as a volunteer leader by applying for a position on the National Metal Building Contractors Council.
