On September 1, 2004, the National Partnership between ABC and OSHA expired. It is important to note that if your chapter have a local or regional partnership that is in place with your local or regional OSHA office, this does not affect your local/regional partnership. Members in STEP Platinum status who were covered under the national ABC/OSHA CLAS partnership are now eligible for programmed OSHA inspections now that there is no partnership in place. We regret that this may occur, but feel it is more important to ensure that future partnerships are a benefit, not a burden, to our STEP Platinum members. Meetings are ongoing between ABC leadership and OSHA officials to rectify the situation, and we are hoping for a speedy solution.
