MEET OUR PRESENTERS
Maury Baskin serves as ABC’s general counsel and is a shareholder in the Washington, D.C., office of Littler Mendelson P.C., where he chairs Littler’s Construction practice group and co-chairs Littler’s Workplace Policy Institute. He is one of the chief legal advocates for the rights of employers on labor issues throughout the country, representing ABC and its member firms at every level of government, up to and including the U.S. Supreme Court.

Ben Brubeck is the vice president of regulatory, labor and state affairs for ABC. In this role, he works with his team work to shape policy on local, state and federal issues important to the construction industry, and represents ABC before lawmakers, the media, construction industry executives and stakeholders. His expertise across a portfolio of issues include labor and employment, workforce development, infrastructure, federal contractor regulations, small businesses and public works procurement.

Jimmy E. Greene, the president of Associated Builders and Contractors of Michigan, spearheads government affairs efforts on behalf of the state chapters and membership. Prior to this role, he served as president and chief executive officer of the ABC Greater Michigan Chapter and the Greater Michigan Construction Academy, which has educated more than 300 builders and contractors in 36 counties. As the founder and past president of the Michigan Black Republican Party and the Rockefeller Republican Center for Public Policy, Greene is politically engaged at the local, state and federal level, as well as an active community volunteer.

Brett McMahon is the chairman, CEO and co-owner of Miller & Long Co., Inc., headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, and Miller & Long DC, Inc., located in Washington, D.C. Both companies specialize in pouring cast-in-place concrete for multi-level office buildings, parking garages and mixed-use developments. Together the companies employ more than 1,500 people on volume exceeding $280 million annuals. McMahon has 25 years’ experience in the construction industry.

Vance Walter helps lead the federal affairs division at Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) in a legislative and political capacity. As ABC’s lead on Small Business; Transportation & Infrastructure; Energy; Environment; and Natural Resources issues, Vance serves as a representative of ABC’s 21,000 members. Vance also helps manage the political operations for ABC, including ABC PAC and the Free Enterprise Alliance.
Prior to joining ABC, Vance worked in the polling industry for Public Opinion Strategies. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona and resides in Alexandria, VA.
