WEBINAR DESCRIPTION

The Mass Timber Construction Manual will give construction professionals the information needed to plan, organize, manage and construct mass timber buildings safely and efficiently. It is intended to provide best practices related to bidding, planning, erection/assembly and finish considerations for contractors, tradespeople, installers and subcontractors involved in mass timber projects.

This content will be useful to a wide range of construction professionals, to bridge gaps in knowledge between their own experience and the needs of mass timber projects. We will be talking with Davis Construction about the 80 M Street vertical expansion project (a 105,000 square-foot mass timber office building) in downtown Washington, D.C., as well as with Swinerton Mass Timber about the Oregon State University – Cascades Campus Academic Building 2 (a 50,000 square-foot mixed-use academic building).

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • • Effective methods of early design-phase cost estimation and building official interaction on code compliance topics as risk mitigation.
  • • Potential construction schedule savings and construction fire safety practices realized through the use of prefabricated mass timber elements.
  • • Best practices for interaction among manufacturer, design team and preconstruction manager that can lead to cost efficiency and safety onsite.
