USACE Issues Two PLA Surveys

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is requesting comments from the construction industry in response to the potential use of government-mandated project labor agreements (PLA) on two projects covering Mississippi, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

The USACE Mobile district is seeking responses regarding the Engineer Research and Development Center Headquarters contract in Vicksburg, Miss. More information on the project can be found here. Survey responses must be submitted to [email protected] by March 14.

The USACE Philadelphia district is requesting comments regarding the Delaware River Main Channel Deepening project which includes work in Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Comments must be submitted by March 17 at 4 p.m. (ET) to [email protected].

All ABC members and construction professionals are encouraged to respond to the request for information and tell USACE that government-mandated PLAs harm competition, increase costs, and impede the economy and efficiency of government contracting.

ABC National has taken the opportunity to respond to all PLA surveys as they are issued and encourages its members to do the same. For assistance with responding to the survey, contact ABC’s Director of Federal Procurement and Labor Affairs Ben Brubeck, [email protected]
