Baltimore Metro Chapter Awards Scholarship to Aspiring Construction Student

On Jan. 15, ABC Baltimore Metro Chapter’s Women in ABC committee awarded a $4,000 scholarship to high school student Emily Burgess of Seton Keough High School for submitting a winning design in a canned food construction project competition.

As part of the competition, applicants had to obtain the materials and submit a design and hypothetical implementation process to build a structure entirely out of canned food and other non-perishable item. Burgess’ winning design was for the Giving Tree and all materials collected will be donated to My Brother’s Keeper, a local food bank.

ABC Baltimore Chapter’s Women in ABC is comprise of women members of the chapter who are directly involved in the field of commercial construction. More information on the committee is available on the chapter’s website
