ABC members that register for one of the seven educational Academies being offered at the 21st Century Workforce Development Conference by 5 p.m. (ET) on April 3 will not only gain a valuable opportunity to take their careers to the next level, but also will be entered into a drawing for a free night’s stay in Birmingham during the conference.
On the eve of the third anniversary of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, ABC March 22 issued a statement calling attention to how the health care law continues to create uncertainty and confusion in the construction industry, making it difficult for the nation’s contractors to plan for the future.
As part of the Employers for Flexibility in Health Care Coalition, ABC March 15 submitted comments to the Department of Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service in response to a Dec. 28 proposed rule on the employer shared responsibility provisions in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
The Stop the HIT Coalition, of which ABC is a member, March 19 sent a letter to members of the U.S. Senate offering support for the Jobs and Premium Protection Act of 2013, introduced by Sen. John Barrasso and Sen. Orrin Hatch, that would repeal the health insurance tax provisions in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
ABC March 13 joined five other construction groups to send a letter to members of the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Workforce Protections outlining the features of a successful guestworker program in response to a hearing, "Examining the Role of Lower-Skilled Guest Worker Programs in Today's Economy.”
