The U.S. House of Representatives June 7 passed the Health Care Cost Reduction Act of 2012 (H.R. 436) by a vote of 270-146. The bill would repeal two tax increases contained in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
ABC has also always been opposed to tax increases, especially at a time when the unemployment rate in the construction industry exceeds 16 percent. The new health care law includes an $87 billion health insurance premium (HIT) tax that will fall hard on small businesses.
The Departments of Health and Human Services, Labor and the Treasury recently issued another set of frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding grandfathered health plans under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
