ABC March 22 joined 44 other organizations and businesses in supporting a bill, the Auto Enroll Repeal Act (H.R. 2206) that would repeal a provision in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that requires employers of 200 or more full-time employees to automatically enroll employees in a health plan should coverage not be chosen by the employee.
ABC on March 28 submitted a letter as part of a U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee hearing on the “Individual and Employer Mandates in the Democrats’ Health Care Law,” and offered support for the American Job Protection Act (H.R. 1744), which would repeal the employer mandate.
After the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Repeal of Obamacare Act (H.R. 6079) on July 11, ABC offered practical, common-sense health care solutions and continued to advocate for full repeal of the health care law.
ABC is joining more than 30 other organizations as part of the Stop the HIT Coalition to support the Jobs and Premium Protection Act (S. 1880), introduced Nov. 16 in the U.S. Senate, which would repeal the Health Insurance Tax (HIT) contained in Section 9010 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
The U.S. House of Representatives June 7 passed the Health Care Cost Reduction Act of 2012 (H.R. 436) by a vote of 270-146. The bill would repeal two tax increases contained in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
ABC has also always been opposed to tax increases, especially at a time when the unemployment rate in the construction industry exceeds 16 percent. The new health care law includes an $87 billion health insurance premium (HIT) tax that will fall hard on small businesses.
