Twenty-three students have won college scholarships worth between $5,000 and $40,000 in the second year of a national competition organized by the ACE Mentor Program, a free after-school program created by the integrated construction industry to attract students into pursuing industry-related careers.

Applications for ABC's Accredited Quality Contractor Program are being accepted now through Oct. 30.

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Veterans Employment and Training Service is accepting employer applications for the 2020 HIRE Vets Medallion Program Award, which recognizes employers for their efforts to recruit, employ and retain our nation’s veterans. In 2019, the program recognized 427 employers for their dedicated efforts to hire American veterans, including ABC member United Rentals. The deadline to apply is April 30.

Save the date and support the competitors of the 2020 National Craft Championships by volunteering to be a judge.

The AQC program recognizes and honors construction firms that document their commitment to excellence in five key areas of corporate responsibility: quality, safety, craft and management education, talent management and diversity and community relations.  A company that meets the criteria set forth in the program and has earned STEP Gold, Platinum or Diamond status in ABC’s safety management system is formally designated an Accredited Quality Contractor.     

ABC awarded Caesar Gorski, former president of Gorski Construction Co. of the ABC Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter, its Life Membership award during ABC Legislative Week 2019 in Washington, D.C.

The ABC Southern California chapter hosted their 25th annual craft championships on Saturday Jan. 26, 2019. Along with the craft competition, there were over 500 visitors, 22 vendors, a nine-team chili cook-off, a high school visit with hands-on activities presented by chapter instructors and demonstrations from Job Corps and ABC Southern California.

A company that meets these criteria and has earned Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) Gold, Platinum or Diamond status, is formally designated an “Accredited Quality Contractor.”

The 2018 Design-Build Project award winners were announced at an awards dinner during the Design-Build Conference & Expo, Nov. 7-9 in New Orleans. From university buildings to bridge replacements, this year’s winners are some of the best construction projects in the country. Several ABC members are part of award-winning teams and were honored by DBIA for their accomplishments.

Apply for the ABC National Diversity Excellence Awards by Sunday, Nov. 25. Winners will be recognized during ABC's National Excellence in Construction® Awards, acknowledged at the 2019 Diversity & Inclusion Summit and more. Additionally, members who create an inclusive culture by improving the work experience for the disabled are encouraged to submit comments on the Excellence in Disability Inclusion Award by Dec. 4, 2018.
