As part of the Commercial Properties Coalition, ABC April 1 submitted comments to the EPA in response to their request for information on a possible rulemaking that would regulate renovation, repair and painting activities on and in public and commercial buildings to address possible lead-based paint hazards.
ABC Vice President of Federal Affairs Geoff Burr April 10 testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Appropriations Labor, Health and Human Services subcommittee during a hearing, “Regulatory Approaches to Foster Economic Growth.” In his testimony, Burr spoke on behalf of ABC and the ABC-led Coalition for a Democratic Workplace (CDW) about burdensome regulations and policies.
ABC April 9 criticized President Obama’s renomination of Mark Pearce to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) as a move to promote the narrow policy goals of politically powerful labor unions.
USACE is requesting feedback from the construction industry about government-mandated PLAs on unspecified large-scale federal projects within Western states (primarily Utah, Nevada and Colorado). NAVFAC is seeking comments on the use of PLAs for the P-229 Weapons Surveillance and Test Laboratory and Calibration Laboratory at Naval Weapons Station, Seal Beach, Calif.
