The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Aug. 13 announced that it will be withdrawing a key portion of the new stormwater management regulations for construction sites, the Effluent Limitations Guidelines (ELG), originally published in Dec. 2009.

ABC, in conjunction with the Coalition for Workplace Safety, filed comments with OSHA opposing a proposed rule that will change how the agency will operate its On-site Consultation Program for all worksites, including those that have Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program status.  ABC also filed its own set of comments focusing on the direct impact this proposed rule would have on the construction industry.

OSHA should consider the unintended consequences of a proposed revision to its injury and illness tracking and reporting requirements before issuing the final rule, ABC wrote in a set of comments submitted to the agency Oct. 28.
