On October 22-23, in San Antonio, Texas, ABC will bring together industrial construction users and merit shop contractors for the first annual Industrial Users Summit. The goal is to discuss common issues that affect the way projects are planned and delivered and demonstrate how merit shop contractors deliver value to customers. The Summit also gives ABC member contractors an opportunity to understand what owners need in the planning and delivery process. The Industrial Users Summit will include discussions, best practices, and presentations on topics including quality, safety and workforce development. In addition, Mike Casten, founder of Construction Concepts, will provide a unique, thought-provoking perspective on whether the projected skilled labor shortage exists or whether management and construction planning systems fail to maximize productivity. You can see a more detailed agenda, including speakers and session titles, and register for the event on the Industrial Users Summit website. The event will be limited to industrial users and owners and contractors in a 1:4 ratio to give attendees a high level of interaction and conversation. The exclusivity is limited to the number of attendees, not by our being selective of the contractor – all contractors are welcome on a first come, first served basis. If you are a contractor with industrial clients, please invite the senior corporate leader you work with to join you for the session. Attendance for users (and one spouse/guest) is complimentary – all they need to do is fill out the PDF registration form and return it to [email protected]. Registration for contractor members is $500 and requires a separate registration that can be accessed on the Industrial Users Summit website. You can also find a flyer promoting the Summit here. In addition, a limited number of sponsorship opportunities are still available.
