Four of ABC’s past National Chairs are requesting support for an initiative designed to increase awareness about careers in construction and help curb the impending skilled worker shortage by providing new educational opportunities to ABC members.

Past National Chairs, Carole L. Bionda, Nova group, Napa, Calif., Eric G. Regelin, GRANIX, LLC, Ellicott City, Md., John B. Smith, Lake Mechanical Contractors, Inc., Eustis, Fla., and Michael J. Uremovich, Manhattan Mechanical Services, Manhattan, Ill., have teamed up with the Trimmer Construction Education Foundation (TCEF), to promote the sustaining Trimmer Fellows initiative.

The initiative will provide funding for scholarships to future members, award grants for chapter education programs, and continue TCEF’s support of annual competitions. By participating, ABC members can help strengthen existing ABC education programs, provide seed money for new programming and benefit the association as a whole.

Membership as a sustaining Trimmer Fellow is open to any ABC member who contributes an annual unrestricted minimum gift of $2,000 to the TCEF. Although a company may sponsor a membership, an individual must be designated as the Fellow.  

Trimmer Fellows receive:

a lapel pin distinguishing them as a part of this select group;
their name added to the Registry of Fellows at ABC National headquarters and on the TCEF website; and 
recognition in ABC publications and at ABC national events.

The goal is to have at least one sustaining Trimmer Fellow from each chapter. ABC members are encouraged to ask their chapter president to designate a Fellow and show support for this important initiative.
