At the 2013 National Craft Championships (NCC), Daniel Ary Sr. from Bakersfield, Calif., represented ABC member company TIC in the welding-pipe competition. During the competition, Ary displayed his passion for his craft and his passion for being a part of the construction industry is clearly demonstrated in the video below. By sending a craft trainee to compete in the 2014 NCC competition, ABC members can also showcase their talented and dedicated employees.

If an ABC member wants to send their talented craft trainees to compete on a national level, the deadline to submit an Intent to Compete form is Dec. 6, with some crafts accepting a limited number of competitors on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The two-day event, held April 29-May 2 in Birmingham, Ala., in conjunction with ABC’s Workforce Development Conference, will hold competitions in the following crafts:

• Fire Sprinkler
• HVAC
• Instrumentation Fitting
• Insulation
• Millwright/Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

• Welding-Structural
