Twenty-three students have won college scholarships worth between $5,000 and $40,000 in the second year of a national competition organized by the ACE Mentor Program, a free after-school program created by the integrated construction industry to attract students into pursuing industry-related careers.
ABC is a proud sponsor of ACE, which stands for Architecture, Construction and Engineering. ACE engages 10,000 high school students annually in a free after-school program lasting 15 sessions, where volunteer industry professionals, including ABC member employees, mentor students and lead them through a hands-on simulation of designing and constructing buildings.
Selected on the basis of merit and financial need, scholarship winners this fall will enter accredited college programs in architecture, interior design and several engineering fields, including civil, mechanical, electrical and architectural. ABC was honored to have representatives involved in the judging process and was extremely impressed by these talented young applicants. ABC is proud to help raise funds, find mentors, host ACE events and serve on local and national ACE boards across the country.
Scholarship recipients were notified via a Zoom announcement that included the ACE national office, the students’ affiliate leaders and their mentors.
