The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) have issued two surveys soliciting comments from the construction industry on the potential use of project labor agreements (PLA) on projects in Missouri and Texas. The VA Office of Construction and Facilities Management issued a survey about the potential use of a government-mandated PLA on a federal contract for site improvements and rehabilitation of the VA Medical Center in St. Louis. All survey responses must be completed and sent to [email protected] by July 17. For a federal contract to repair the existing runway at Randolph Air Force Base in Texas, the USACE Fort Worth District is requesting that surveys be completed by July 23 and sent to [email protected]. More information on the project is available here. ABC National has taken the opportunity to respond to all PLA surveys as they are issued and encourages its members to do the same. For assistance with responding to the survey, contact ABC’s Director of Federal Procurement and Labor Affairs Ben Brubeck, [email protected]. For more information on PLAs, visit www.thetruthaboutplas.com, Facebook.com/thetruthaboutplas and Twitter.com/truthaboutplas.
