ABC announced May 21 that the Executive Committee appointed Ray Zamora, president and owner of AnchorBuilt Inc. in Albuquerque N.M., as the new Mountain West Region Vice Chairman. Zamora is entering into his second year as Chairman of ABC New Mexico. During his tenure, he has worked tirelessly to advance the merit shops' presence in New Mexico. Last year when ABC was battling against a PLA law that was passed in the city of Santa Fe, Zamora attended city council meetings in Santa Fe that took place in the evening, even though he had spent a full day working at his company. ABC was able to get that law rescinded, due in large part to members such as Zamora being committed to ABC. Zamora has been appointed by the Executive Committee to fill out the term left vacant by Wade Pope thru 2015.
