The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is requesting comments from the construction industry on the potential use of a government-mandated project labor agreement (PLA) for a large-scale school construction project in Fort Knox, Ky. The project will consist of constructing a new elementary school which would consolidate two old elementary schools. Comments must be submitted to Emily Jenkins at [email protected] by 1:00 PM (ET) on Feb. 11. To view and respond to the survey, click here. All ABC members and construction professionals are encouraged to respond to the request for information and tell USACE that government-mandated PLAs harm competition, increase costs, and impede the economy and efficiency of government contracting. For more information on PLAs, visit www.thetruthaboutplas.com, Facebook.com/thetruthaboutplas and Twitter.com/truthaboutplas. To help ABC continue to ensure fair and open competition on federal, state and local construction projects funded by taxpayer dollars, make a donation here: donate.thetruthaboutplas.com.
