The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is requesting comments from the construction community addressing the potential use of Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) on large scale construction projects exceeding $25 million in Kentucky and Arizona. The Fort Campbell, Ky. construction project will include the design and build of personnel housing barracks. To read more on the Fort Campbell project, click here. Comments are due by Dec. 27 and can be sent to Courtney Luckett at [email protected]. The USACE is also soliciting comments in a PLA survey for the Visitors Quarters at the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona. For more information, click here. Comments for the Arizona project must be submitted by Jan. 11 to Ryan Rivas at [email protected]. All ABC members and construction professionals are encouraged to respond to the request for information. Tell USACE that government-mandated PLAs harm competition, increase costs, and impede the economy and efficiency of government contracting. For more information about government-mandated PLAs, visit www.thetruthaboutplas.com, Facebook.com/thetruthaboutplas and Twitter.com/truthaboutplas. To help ABC continue to ensure fair and open competition on federal, state and local construction projects funded by taxpayer dollars, make a donation here at donate.thetruthaboutplas.com.
