The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has issued two surveys soliciting comments from the construction industry on the potential use of a project labor agreement (PLA) for projects in New Jersey and California. The USACE Philadelphia District is seeking comments addressing the potential use of a PLA for the construction project at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey. Surveys must be completed by 4 p.m. (ET) Feb. 10 and should be submitted to Gregory Keaton at [email protected]. More information on the project is available online. Responses to the PLA survey for the design-build contract at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., are due by 2 p.m. March 3 to Lucia Carvajal at [email protected]. All ABC members and construction professionals are encouraged to respond to the request for information and tell USACE that government-mandated PLAs harm competition, increase costs, and impede the economy and efficiency of government contracting. ABC National has taken the opportunity to respond to all PLA surveys as they are issued and encourages its members to do the same. For assistance with responding to the survey, contact ABC’s Director of Federal Procurement and Labor Affairs Ben Brubeck, [email protected].
