More than 400 ABC members came to Capitol Hill June 23-26 for ABC's 2015 Legislative Conference. The week kicked off with the first annual Diversity & Inclusion Summit, which featured a lively discussion about supplier diversity within the construction industry. The event also included a Legislative Breakfast, which featured a panel discussion on key issues facing the industry and a day on the Hill where ABC members had the chance to meet with their representatives in the House and the Senate.
Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) will be joining us as the keynote speaker at the Free Enterprise Alliance Reception June 23 during Legislative Week. Sen. Ernst, elected in November 2014, is the first woman to serve in federal elected office from the State of Iowa and the first female combat veteran elected to serve in the United States Senate. Join us June 23 as we hear from Sen. Ernst and her thoughts on today’s political environment as it relates to ABC, the construction industry and the merit shop.
More than 400 hundred ABC members are on Capitol Hill this week advocating for important merit shop issues with their members of Congress. For those members unable to make the trip, there is still an opportunity to participate virtually by contacting their elected officials from a computer or mobile device using ABC's Action App on your iPhone or Android, or downloading the update.
ABC members and chapter staff interested in participating in ABC’s 2014 Legislative Conference June 11 in Washington, D.C., have until Friday, May 16 to take advantage of the early bird registration rates and the discounted hotel price. By registering for the conference, attendees will have access to the Legislative Update Breakfast and a day on Capitol Hill meeting with members of Congress.
ABC members are invited to join their peers and industry professionals at the 2014 Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. June 11 to meet with members of congress to discuss important legislative issues affecting the industry and their businesses.
ABC has made some changes to its meeting schedule in an effort to provide more value for attendees. The Meetings Transformation Taskforce set goals to provide more affordable accommodations, keep registration costs in check and reduce the number of meetings overall for next year and moving forward.
More than 350 ABC members and chapters traveled to Washington D.C., June 12 to meet their members of Congress. They also heard from Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.), Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.) and Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) during the ABC Legislative Conference breakfast.

ABC’s Legislative Conference will feature Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) as the keynote speaker during the Free Enterprise Alliance reception on June 11 and Rep. Martha Roby (R-Ala.-3) as the speaker at the Young Professionals Reception on June 12.
ABC is honored to have ABC member and freshman congressman representing Oklahoma's 2nd Congressional District Markwayne Mullin speak at the 2013 Legislative Conference, June 12 in Washington, D.C. The early bird rate expires on May 17.
